Getting creative for EcoBank

Last week, our lecturer Anisa told all of us that we are going to be a part of EcoBank, which is a national zero-waste campaign that provides a platform for people to donate their pre-loved items a second lease of life while encouraging responsible consumption for a charitable cause. The donated items will be curated and sold at the EcoBank Bazaar, with 100% of the proceeds going to The Children’s Charities Association of Singapore (CCA), while the unsold items will go to CCA and the MINDS Thrift Shop to benefit their fundraising efforts.

The fashion design students of our school will be gathering materials from donated goods and creating pieces to be auctioned to charity. Us marketing students are in charge of promoting and creating traffic to the event. We were separated into four teams: research, marketing, filming & creative.

I was in the creative team. Shocker! Just kidding. My lecturer sort of hinted that she wanted me in that team so I knew I didn't have much of a choice. I didn't mind it at all because creating aesthetically beautiful things are therapeutic to me and I literally get to do what I love as a duty which is a win win situation. I'm teamed up with another 5 lovely classmates of mine who are all equally as hard working and constantly sharing input so I'm pretty excited to see how everything turns out.

So far this week, our team only decided on the rebranding of EcoBank into something more sophisticated compared to their current look while still maintaining it approachable to families with children since this is for a children's charity.

For now, I'm not going to reveal too much as you'll just have to stay tuned to see!
