A start of something new

After having a long month break, I'm back for my second last semester in Raffles! This term is a little special for me as I'll be working on a live project throughout the semester with a client Anisa set me up with. To be honest, I hesitated for awhile as I wasn't sure if I could execute what the client wants within the time period and at the level requested. I was actually quite nervous when I accepted the challenge because my reputation along with Anisa's is on the line in some way.

I consider myself an insecure person but not because I think my work is bad, but more like I'm constantly catching the flaws and finding room for improvement which sometimes leads to me doubting my hard work. Thankfully, Davina especially was very supportive of me and pushed me to take on this opportunity despite my doubts. She reminded me that I'm good at creating layouts, visuals and creating aesthetically beautiful social feeds as proven in the fashion show last term. I'm pretty blessed to have someone believing in me and Anisa chose me for a reason which truly gave me the confidence boost I needed.

I met with Susannah, the founder of ZERRIN - a sustainable online retailer, last Wednesday at a cafe around Orchard to discuss details on my tasks. I was quite nervous in the morning because I didn't know what to expect and it felt like I was going through a job interview. We met at 11am and chatted away like long lost friends, and the meeting lasted for two whole hours! I wondered why was I even nervous in the first place because it went a lot smoother than expected and Susannah was absolutely lovely.

When we were discussing through the tasks to do, I was quite pumped to work with her because I'd not only be a small part of her brand's journey, but I'll be able to gain exposure and learn how things go about in the real world. Also, learn more about sustainable brands which would be useful for my Future Fashion Project module.

Stay tuned for my updates on my projects with ZERRIN!
